When It All Falls Down

My iPod is the soundtrack to my life. I’ve picked up this annoying habit of never knowing what I want to hear. I’ve got 6500 songs --mostly R&B. When I’m in need of a story or a blog, I put it on Random and just listen, mostly as background music, hoping something will jump out of me, or at least plant a seed that will eventually grow into a full- fledged article or blog. Call it inspiration by osmosis.

Anyway, after hours of listening while I cleaned my apartment, a song struck a chord. It was Boyz II Men’s “On Bended Knee” and it was the line of the chorus when they sing, “ Can you tell me how a perfect love goes wrong?”

I thought of a man from my past. It wasn’t love; it wasn’t perfect, but it was good at one point.
