New York Botanical Gardens ®
THE BRONX, NY
November 22, 2015
From the moment I stepped into the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory at NY Botanical Gardens (In the Bronx), I was in awe. G-scale locomotives ( i.e., the "big" miniatures) zip around on a half mile or track, passing by 150+ recreations of historical NY landmarks-- created with bark, leaves, and other natural materials (I mean, it is the botanical gardens)— such as Rockefeller Center, the NY Public Library, structures from the 1964 World"s Fair (in Queens), the original Penn Station, and even the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges.
On display until Jan. 18, the Holiday Train Show is perfect for a family outing, or a even a date night! On select weekends, the showcase offers, "Bar Car Nights" for 21+ attendees. Admission includes a complimentary "adult beverage".
